Mitchell Klaas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mitchell began their career as a General Labourer at Villacanale Farms in 1990, where they worked until 2008. From 2007 to 2008, they also served as a Lead Hand at Pure Hot House Foods Inc. In 2009, they briefly worked as a Central Registry Organizer at Service Canada. In 2010, Mitchell joined Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada as a Farm Operations Assistant, where they were responsible for executing crop yield and safety optimization experiments, operating and maintaining farm machinery, and organizing office paperwork. Mitchell then transitioned to STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada in 2012, starting as a Shift Manager at the Coke Ovens before becoming a Process Engineer for the Blast Furnace from 2015 to 2018. Most recently, Mitchell held the position of Operating Technology & Innovation Manager in the Steelmaking department at STELCO.

Mitchell Klaas began their education at Essex District High School, where they attended from 2004 to 2008. After completing high school, they went on to Western University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering Science (BESc) in Chemical Engineering from 2008 to 2012. Currently, Mitchell is furthering their education at the DeGroote School of Business - McMaster University. Mitchell is a Master of Business Administration (MBA) candidate, expected to graduate in 2024.
