Marcelo Prates is a policy and legal expert, researcher, and former regulator with over 25 years of international experience in financial innovation and digital assets. Currently serving as Policy Director at Stellar Development Foundation since 2024, Marcelo also holds a position as a Research Affiliate at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance. Previously, Marcelo contributed as a columnist at CoinDesk and held various roles at Banco Central do Brasil, including Chief of Staff and Associate General Counsel.
