Jim McCarthy is a seasoned Senior Electro-Optical Instrument Scientist at Stellar Solutions, providing expertise to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for the Joint Polar-orbiting Satellite System (JPSS) missions since 2012. Previously, McCarthy held significant roles, including Senior Electro-Optical Instrument Scientist at Northrop Grumman Space Technology and Assistant Professor of Astronomy at Caltech. McCarthy earned a Ph.D. in Astronomy from Caltech and a B.S. in Astronomy and Physics from Penn State University. Currently, McCarthy also teaches as an Adjunct Professor of Physics at Loyola Marymount University.
