Peter Bergman

Peter Bergman has a diverse work experience in the fields of economics and education. Peter is currently working as a Schmidt Futures Innovation Fellow at Schmidt Futures, starting in May 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Co-chair of the Education Technology Initiative at J-PAL MIT since January 2018. Additionally, they have been the Director of Learning Collider since January 2021 and an Associate Professor of Economics at The University of Texas at Austin since August 2021. Peter also worked as an Associate Professor of Economics at Columbia University in the City of New York from September 2013 to August 2021. Recently, they also joined StellarEmploy as the Chief Research Officer in January 2022.

Peter Bergman earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley, which they attended from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics at UCLA, where they studied from 2007 to 2012.
