Mark Pratt

Mark Pratt is an accomplished engineering fellow at Stellaromics Inc., focusing on the advancement of spatial 'omics technologies. As a co-founder and CTO at Ultima Genomics, Mark played a pivotal role in pioneering cost-effective DNA sequencing, achieving a remarkable price point of $100 per human genome. With extensive experience as a principal at Voyager Technologies, Mark offers expertise in system engineering, informatics, and product development. Previous positions include senior director of accuracy R&D at Personalis, where Mark was instrumental in creating innovative assays for DNA sequencing, and principal engineer roles at Illumina and Solexa, where Mark contributed to the development of market-leading sequencing systems. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, as well as additional degrees and postdoctoral research from UC San Diego, MIT, the University of Washington, and Walla Walla University.
