Gary Braun

Gary Braun is a Senior Scientist II in Research and Development at STEMCELL Technologies since September 2016. Prior to this role, Gary served as a Staff Scientist at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute from March 2010 to August 2016, focusing on the design and synthesis of novel etchable nanoparticles for enhanced diagnostic imaging. Gary's career includes experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute and UC Santa Barbara, concentrating on nanoparticles for cancer detection and therapeutics. Gary holds a PhD in Chemistry (2010) and a B.S. in Chemistry (2004), both from UC Santa Barbara, where research involved tagged SERS-active nanomaterials and quantum dots. Additional experience includes undergraduate research and a summer position at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
