Support Operations Manager at STEP CG

Mark Woods has over 14 years of professional work experience in the technology field. Mark began their career in 2006 as a District Technician for the Pineville Board of Education, where they managed a network of four Windows servers and approximately 100 Windows and 300 Apple computers, and 100 iPads. Mark also assisted with configuration of Avaya 5510 and 5520 network switches and solved numerous problems involving networking, software, hardware, operating systems and directory services. In 2007, they were assigned as the Information Management Officer for the 1-149th Charlie Company in support of “Operation New Dawn” while deployed to Iraq. Mark then moved to Lincoln Memorial University in 2012, where they served as a Senior Computer Support Technician providing excellent customer service and technical expertise to approximately 4,000 end-users. In 2014, they became the Director of Technology for the Middlesboro Board of Education, overseeing and maintaining a complex network environment consisting of Avaya VSP routers, Extreme switches, Avaya 9100 series access points, Avaya Identity Engine Server, Windows servers, approximately 200 Windows and 300 Apple computers, 300 iPads, 1400 Chromebooks, 80 printers, and 1400 active directory user accounts. In 2020, they joined Cumberland Gap National Historic Park as an Information Technology Specialist. Most recently, they are the Support Operations Manager at STEP CG.

Mark Woods has a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with an Infrastructure Concentration from the University of the Cumberlands, which they obtained in 2019. Mark also has an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology (Network Administration Option) from Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, which they obtained in 2016. Additionally, they are currently studying Information Technology at Western Governors University. Mark Woods has also obtained numerous certifications, such as Cradlepoint Certified Network Expert Theory, Cradlepoint Certified Network Associate, Cradlepoint Certified Network Professional, Cradlepoint Certified Network Professional 5G, ECS - Campus Fabric Switching & Routing, EDS - IP Campus, Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 3: Certified Associate, and EDS - Management Center from various institutions, including Cradlepoint, Extreme Networks, and Fortinet.
