Carter Hansen

Carter Hansen is the Head of Content at Step. Prior to Step, they were the VP of Content, Programming, and Creators at VidCon from October 2019 to July 2021. Carter was also the founder of Different Entertainment from October 2018 to July 2021. Different Entertainment is a startup production company that specializes in original content, experiential and immersive programming, and festivals.

At Different Entertainment, Carter was responsible for content strategy, creative innovation and executive leadership. Carter oversaw all original development and programming, created immersive storytelling and experiential content with headlining musical talent/top digital influencers, led sponsorships/partnerships outreach strategy including experiential activations to engage audience, and designed cross platform digital programming to attract at-home viewers and build brand awareness.

Before Different Entertainment, Carter was the Senior Creative Producer / Strategic Content Group at Fullscreen, Inc from July 2015 to April 2016. Carter was also the Executive Producer, Head of Branded Content at Awesomeness from April 2016 to October 2018. Carter was the Founding Executive at Awesomeness from October 2011 to July 2015.

Carter Hansen pursued a field in international relations and affairs at Syracuse University and later completed a semester at sea (SAS).
