Chase Dehan

Chase DeHan is an experienced data science and machine learning professional currently serving as the Head of Data Science and Machine Learning at Step since May 2023. Previous roles include Staff Data Scientist - Ads ML at Nextdoor, where responsibilities included leading the design and implementation of ML ranking models, and Engineering Manager - Machine Learning at Tesorio. As a content author for Pluralsight, Chase created multiple courses focused on machine learning and virtual team management. Additional experience encompasses roles as a Data Scientist at Progressive Leasing and an Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics at the University of South Carolina Upstate. Prior to a career in data science, Chase served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, participating in two combat deployments to Iraq, and competed as an athlete in the 2010 Bobsled Winter Olympic Trials. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Utah and a Post-Doctoral Bridge Program in Finance from the University of Florida.
