David Shields

David Shields is currently the Director of Applied Microbiology at STERIS, where they oversee key efforts in disinfectant efficacy testing. Previously, they held various roles at STERIS Laboratories, including Technical Services Manager and Senior Scientist, managing disinfectant qualification and efficacy services. Earlier in their career, David worked as a Microbiologist and Laboratory Supervisor at Silliker. David earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota-Morris, a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and an Advanced Certificate in Regulatory Affairs from San Diego State University.
