Ali H. is an optical instrumentation physicist at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, specializing in experimental development of prototype instruments for applications ranging from ground to space, particularly in spectroscopy from Deep UV to sub-mm wave. Ali previously worked at e2v as a Space and Scientific Imaging CCD Project and Development Engineer and contributed as a research scientist at STFC, focusing on light generation, manipulation, detection spectroscopy, and remote sensing. With experience as a firefighter, both on-call with the Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and previously with Avon Fire and Rescue Services, Ali combines technical expertise with a commitment to public service. Ali earned a PhD in Physics with a specialization in Ultrafast Science from the University of Bath, furthering their knowledge since obtaining a Master’s degree in Physics with Laser Science from the University of Southampton.
