David Emerson

David Emerson is the Head of Computational Engineering at STFC, where they lead a team investigating fluid dynamics across various scales. Prior to this role, they worked at Daresbury Laboratory from 1990 to 1995, starting as a Senior Research Associate and later becoming a Senior Scientific Officer, where they coordinated significant engineering consortia and contributed to developing software for parallel computing. They earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Computational Fluid Dynamics from Manchester University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Applied Mathematics from Cardiff University. Additionally, Emerson serves as a visiting professor at the University of Strathclyde and collaborates with various university groups.
