Gordon Brown has extensive experience in the field of scientific computing and software infrastructure. From September 2016 to October 2017, Gordon served as the Programme Manager in the Scientific Computing Department at STFC, overseeing project delivery and key services for major facilities including Diamond Light Source and ISIS. Subsequently, Gordon progressed to the role of Associate Director, Delivery at STFC from October 2017 to December 2023, and previously held the position of Head of Software Infrastructure Division at Winton Capital Management from 2010 to 2016. Earlier career roles include Head Database Engineer at PR Newswire (2000-2004) and DBA/Developer at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (2004-2010), where Gordon also served as Head of Data, Communications and Information Group. Gordon holds a BSc Honours degree in Computing Science from Staffordshire University.
