John Williams, PhD, CEng, is a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace and engineering sectors. Williams began a career as a Design Engineer at GKN Aerospace from September 2005 to September 2009, followed by a PhD at the University of Bristol, focusing on Composites, from September 2009 to November 2013. Subsequent roles included Mechanical Design Engineer at Reaction Engines Limited (2013 - September 2020) and Senior Mechanical Engineer positions at Lumentum (September 2020 - September 2021) and STFC (September 2021 - Present). Williams holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, achieved with 1st class honors from the University of the West of England, completed in 2005.
