Lee Jones has extensive experience in the fields of telecommunications and particle physics. At the Ministry of Defence (Air) from December 1991 to July 2001, Lee served as a Telecommunications Technical Officer, specializing in fault-finding, repair, and modification of military airborne avionic equipment. Lee worked on various systems, including the Plessey PTR175 and IFF1500 radio sets and RADAR systems. Prior to this, Lee was a Quality Assurance Technician at Cammell Laird Shiprepairers & Shipbuilders Limited, where responsibilities included the verification of quality assurance documentation for the construction of HMS Ursula, a diesel-electric submarine for the Royal Navy. Since October 2005, Lee has been a Senior Particle Accelerator Physicist at the Science and Technology Facilities Council, focusing on photocathode electron source research and development. Lee also completed a Ph.D. at the University of Liverpool from April 2002 to August 2005, studying electron spin-resolved measurements.
