Lucy Ventress

Lucy Ventress is a Remote Sensing Scientist at STFC, a position they have held since 2018. They completed a post-doctoral research role at the University of Oxford from 2013 to 2018, focusing on improving the retrieval of volcanic ash properties using infrared hyperspectral satellite instruments. Prior to this, Lucy was a PhD student in the Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics Department at the University of Oxford, where they explored atmospheric sounding techniques. They also tutored third-year undergraduates in Physics at Somerville College and Magdalen College during 2011 and 2012. Lucy earned an MPhys in Physics from the University of Oxford between 2005 and 2009.
