Seb Oliver

STFC Science Board (PPAN) Member

Seb Oliver is currently the Associate Dean of Research and Innovation at the University of Sussex, where they also direct the Data Intensive Science Centre. With a robust academic background in astrophysics, they have authored approximately 280 papers, amassing around 20,000 citations. Previously, they served as a professor and managed several significant research projects, including a European Space Agency mission involving over 100 researchers. Seb has held various leadership roles within the STFC, contributing strategic advice and oversight for numerous educational and research initiatives. They earned a PhD in Cosmology from Queen Mary University of London and a BA in Physics from the University of Oxford.
