Susmita Basak

Susmita Basak is a Senior Data Scientist at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, specializing in biomedical imaging to study disease-specific changes in organs through mathematical modeling and machine learning. Prior to this, Susmita worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, where they focused on identifying imaging biomarkers using pharmacokinetic modeling. Susmita also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, modeling thermoelectric compounds, and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Northeastern University, exploring the properties of exotic quantum states of matter. Susmita earned a Ph.D. in Computational Condensed Matter Physics from Northeastern University and holds a Master’s Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, as well as a Bachelor of Science from Qwen.
