Sérgio Fontes

Sérgio Fontes is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in managing and leading design teams across various organizations. Currently serving as a Design Manager at Stone since July 2022, Sérgio co-leads a team focused on creating payment products and technologies for various market segments. Previously, Sérgio held the position of Product Design Lead at Stone, overseeing design projects critical to the retail sector in Brazil. At VTEX, Sérgio contributed as a Staff Product Designer, developing advanced storefront frameworks. Prior roles include Lead Designer at Guava Software, where Sérgio established a collaborative design process and nurtured a team of six designers, Designer at Redu Educational Technologies, and a design trainee at Safh. Sérgio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Design from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco and has completed multiple design research and leadership courses from Nielsen Norman Group and How Bootcamps, as well as a course in Human Computer Interaction from Stanford University.
