Emily Alvarez is an experienced Program Manager at StopWaste, leading the Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) Green Labeling Program since December 2018. This program focuses on improving energy asset disclosure in single-family residential buildings through the Department of Energy's Home Energy Score and organizing green real estate trainings across nine Bay Area counties. Prior to this role, Emily held positions at Dyett & Bhatia as an Associate, where work involved long-range planning and policy development, and at the City of Piedmont as an Assistant Planner, focusing on design reviews and project analysis. Additional experience includes roles at the City and County of San Francisco, the U.S. Green Building Council, and as a Teaching Assistant at Brown University and UC Berkeley. Emily holds a Master of City Planning from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Architectural Studies from Brown University.
