Pranay Pherwani

Pranay Pherwani is a Machine Learning Engineer at STR since June 2023, with a strong background in statistical research and applied mathematics. As a National Science Foundation Researcher in Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Pranay implemented a new random forest algorithm for optimizing stock return predictions, using R and Python for performance evaluation. Prior experience includes working as an Applied Math Research Intern at the Duke Rhodes Information Initiative, studying parameter inference in epidemic models, and as a Consulting Intern at IBIS Consulting Group, where presentations highlighted diversity issues within technology companies. Pranay also interned as a Software Engineer at Constant Therapy Health, developing programs to analyze user data. Pranay holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Duke University and a High School Diploma from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
