Harish Appa is currently the Lead Engineer for Simulations and Design at Strait Access Technologies, where they oversee the Simulations and Design team and have gained extensive experience with transcatheter aortic valve technologies. Previously, Harish held positions as a Senior R&D Engineer and Simulation Engineer, contributing significantly to the design and optimization of stents and heart valve leaflets while performing Finite Element analyses. Harish co-supervised Master's students and engaged in research activities, patent applications, and heart valve testing throughout their career. They hold a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Numerical Modelling, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering, all from the University of Cape Town.
