Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith, P.E. is a seasoned Transportation Engineer at Strand Associates since June 2014. Previously, Ryan held the position of NV Ultimate Board President from August 2017 to December 2018 and served as an Assistant Coach for NV Ultimate from September 2014 to June 2015. Ryan has experience as an athlete with Chicago Wildfire and has contributed to academia as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focusing on sustainable highway reconstruction and international collaborative projects. With a background as Captain of the Illinois Men's Ultimate Frisbee team, Ryan demonstrated leadership skills in program coordination and team development. Ryan's technical foundation includes a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to this, Ryan worked as an Electrician at Smith Electric Service Inc. from May 2004 to August 2010.
