Steven Gao has a diverse work experience in the field of laboratory technology and management. Steven started their career as a Summer Intern at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center in 2009, where they gained laboratory experience and learned specialized lab skills.
After that, Steven worked at the University of Colorado Boulder as a Student Lab Technician from 2010 to 2014. In this role, they were responsible for running and maintaining multiple next-gen sequencers and providing customer support in sequencing applications. Steven also worked on various projects and papers with companies such as ThermoFisher, NCGR, American Gut Project, and Avery Brewery.
From 2014 to 2015, Steven served as the Next-Gen Sequencing Facility Manager at the University of Colorado Boulder. In this position, they were responsible for overseeing the facility and training lab technicians. Steven also served as the primary contact for anything related to the facility.
Currently, Steven is working as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist at Strand Life Sciences since 2015.
From 2010 to 2013, Steven Gao attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology.
