Stuart Flannigan

Stuart Flannigan has a diverse work experience that spans various industries. Stuart most recently worked as a Quantum Algorithm Scientist at Strangeworks starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Associate at the University of Strathclyde from 2020 to 2022, where they focused on theoretical investigations and employed classical computational methods to benchmark quantum simulators and computers. Stuart also utilized quantum-inspired classical numerical methods for studying electron transport in materials and partial differential equations relevant for fluid dynamics.

In 2016, Stuart worked as a Summer Intern at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, where they contributed to the construction and testing of a prototype semiconductor particle detector for the ATLAS experiment at CERN. Stuart successfully completed this program in 2017. Stuart's dedication to academia did not end there, as they went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at the University of Strathclyde. Stuart undertook this rigorous program from 2017 to 2020, further expanding their knowledge and expertise in the field.
