John Patterson has over 30 years of work experience in various roles related to waste management, engineering, and project management. John started their career at Chicago Bridge and Iron Company as a Field & Project Engineer, where they worked on multiple assignments in the nuclear and petroleum fields. At the Amerada Hess Refinery in New Jersey, they successfully planned and executed a major maintenance turnaround project.
John then joined the U.S. Department of Energy as a Remediation Project Engineer, where they provided direction and policy for remediation and demolition activities at former nuclear weapon production facilities. Following that, they worked at Jacobs Engineering as a Waste Management Engineer, focusing on optimizing waste storage systems and developing disposal plans.
In 1998, John joined Bechtel Jacobs Company LLC as a Strategy & Integration Manager. John led the Waste Acceptance Criteria Attainment Team, ensuring proper disposal of radioactive and hazardous waste. John also had expertise in waste characterization methods and anomaly detection.
Since June 2020, John has been working at Strata-G, LLC. Initially, they served as the Director of Waste Management and Vice President, responsible for business development, recruiting, and strategic planning. John also provided leadership in environmental compliance and waste management issues for customers. In June 2020, they were promoted to the role of President, overseeing the overall operations of the company.
Throughout their career, John has demonstrated expertise in waste management, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, and project execution. John has worked on projects for various organizations, including ORNL, DOE-EM Headquarters, Savannah River Site, and Fernald, Weldon Spring Site, and FUSRAP.
John Patterson completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering Technology from the University of Delaware between the years 1984 and 1988. Later, from 1992 to 1995, they pursued a Master's in Engineering Management (MEM) from The George Washington University.
