Bret Self has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Bret started their career in 2002 as an IT Technician at Bloomingdale Communications, where they were responsible for computer repair, network management, and server configuration.
In 2005, Bret worked as a Software Developer at Michigan Technological University, where they developed applications for the Financial Aid Website and Enrollment Services.
From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Software Developer at Allocation Research, after which they joined Jackson as a Lead Software Developer. At Jackson, Bret was involved in platform development and architecture, working on workflow automation, workforce scheduling, and work item distribution for financial services.
In 2011, Bret co-founded Kerosene Machine Records, LLC, where they served as a Co-Founder until 2019.
In 2016, they co-founded Collective Scientific, LLC, a company focused on building software to enable pharmaceutical labs to discover new drugs more quickly.
In 2018, Bret joined Bump Health as the Chief Technical Officer, overseeing multiple businesses within the company, including consumer subscriptions, corporate wellness, telehealth, and insurance.
Most recently, Bret took on the role of Chief Technology Officer at StrataPT, where they are responsible for developing the only EMR & RCM system designed to achieve a 99.99% reimbursement rate.
Bret Self obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University, where they attended from 2004 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Bangor High School from 2000 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, Bret Self has also obtained the Hubspot Inbound certification from HubSpot in January 2018.
