Mitch Auran is a seasoned executive who, over his 25-year career, has held executive positions at startups and established firms in medical and technology industries. Before joining Strategyn, he served as vice president of Micrus Design Technology, a publicly traded medical device manufacturer. Prior to that, he was the president and chief financial officer of VasCon, a medical device company; chief operating officer of Southern Specialties, a produce company; principal of operations and finance for Cenetec Ventures, a technology commercialization company; and president of APA Wireless Technologies, a broadband wireless technology company funded by Cenetec. Mitch was also involved with the launch of two medical device start-up companies and a software start-up.
Mitch was first introduced to Outcome-Driven Innovation while working for a medical device company. The firm used ODI to improve its existing products and strengthen its product pipeline. Implementing the ODI product improvement plan led the company to a position of market leadership and resulted in the company’s acquisition by a billion-dollar medical device company. This experience made Mitch the ODI fanatic he is today.
In 2009, Mitch joined Strategyn as the company’s chief operating officer. Today he is the company’s managing member. Mitch holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting and finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
