Senior Application Scientist at Strateos

Ben Robertson has a diverse work experience in various scientific and engineering roles. Ben has worked as a Senior Application Scientist at Strateos since 2023. Prior to that, from 2019 to 2023, they were a Senior Associate at Exponent Failure Analysis Associates, specializing in mechanical testing, robotics, automation, and other areas. From 2017 to 2019, they served as a Scientist II at Edgewise Therapeutics, managing pre-clinical screening pipelines and developing automation platforms.

Before that, from 2014 to 2017, Ben worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Temple University, focusing on developing robotic systems and motion capture technology. From 2010 to 2014, they were a PhD student at UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine/NC State University College of Engineering, working on developing real-time EMG based controllers and novel robotic systems.

Earlier in their career, Ben was a Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Fellow at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, where they worked on developing seizure detection algorithms and automating histological analysis. Ben also gained research experience as an undergraduate researcher at Rasnik Laboratory and Koehler Laboratory, where they worked on various robotics projects.

Ben Robertson received their Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Emory University in 2008. Ben then pursued their PhD in Biomedical Engineering, completing it at both the North Carolina State University College of Engineering and the UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine from 2010 to 2014. Following their PhD, they continued their education as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Temple University from 2014 onwards.
