Evan Thomas

Director, Flight Operations at Stratolaunch

Evan Thomas is the current Director of Flight Operations at Stratolaunch. Prior to this, they were a test pilot for Scaled Composites, LLC from January 2018 to December 2019. Before that, they were a Senior Test Pilot for Calspan Corporation from February 2011 to January 2018, where they were an instructor test pilot for variable-stability NF-16 and Learjet aircraft at the US Air Force Test Pilot School, Edwards AFB, California. Evan has also served as Vice Wing Commander of the 46th Test Wing in the US Air Force from December 1994 to December 2010, and as an F-16 fighter pilot in the United States Air Force from January 1987 to December 1994.

Evan Thomas began their educational career by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy. Evan then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Fresno. After working for a time, they decided to return to school and obtained a Master of Arts in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University. Evan then obtained a Master of Arts in Military Operational Art and Science/Studies from the USAF Air Command and Staff College. In addition to their academic degrees, Evan Thomas also holds various certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration and the United States Air Force.

They are on a team with Ed Yarbrough - Director, Government Relations, Andrew Johnson - Senior Director, Information Technology, and Scott Schultz - Senior Director, Engineering. Their manager is Zachary C. Krevor, President & CEO.
