Carl Bärstad has a range of work experience in various roles and industries. Carl is currently the Head of Partnerships at Hello World! Ideell Förening since March 2022. Prior to that, they founded Kids Hack Day in February 2020, where they served as the Founder. From 2018 to 2020, Carl held positions at Folk Lab, including Vice Chair Board of Directors, Board Member, and Co-founder & Lab Manager. In this role, they were responsible for content development, delivering workshops, and training staff and customers in digital fabrication. Carl also provided installation and online support using machines from partner Fablab Factory. In 2017, Carl co-founded Strawbees. Carl also served as a Senior Advisor at TEDxStockholm starting in April 2019. Additionally, Carl participated in a course with the Swedish Armed Forces in February 2022 and took paternity leave as a Stay-at-Home Dad from November 2020 to May 2021. Carl also completed a Community Design Masterclass with Mighty Networks in March to April 2021. Carl worked as a Project Manager for Kids Hack The Crisis at The Swedish Institute from September 2020 to November 2020. Finally, they served on the Nominations and Election Committee at TEDxStockholm from May 2016 to February 2019.

From 2006 to 2011, Carl Bärstad attended The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, where they pursued an MSc degree in Engineering. Carl'sfield of study was Industrial Engineering & Management with a focus on Business, Innovation & Programming. During their time at Lund University, they gained expertise in various aspects of industrial engineering and management.

In 2009 and 2010, Carl participated in an exchange program at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The purpose of this exchange year was to further their knowledge and experience in Industrial Engineering & Management.
