Mike Lebow

SVP, Location Strategy & Development at Stream Data Centers

As Senior Vice President of Location Strategy and Development, Mike Lebow supports Stream’s mission to proactively invest in the right markets – giving customers the capacity they need when and where they need it. He leads all aspects of pre-construction site selection and development, including market analysis, site identification and acquisitions, due diligence, zoning and land use permitting, power and other utility upgrades and interconnections, and economic development incentive negotiations.

In addition to his role at Stream Data Centers, Mike is also Co-founder and Partner at Headwaters Site Development, an independent affiliate launched in 2022 in partnership with Stream. Headwaters identifies ideal data center sites and applies a robust and methodical due diligence and development process to bring the sites to a shovel ready state. This involves mitigating risks, reducing lead-times, and optimizing sites for data center deployment to ensure owners and operators can bring sustainable, resilient, cost-optimized data center capacity online faster and more reliably.

Mike began building his site development competencies in the renewable energy sector, leading the identification and development of ten commercial wind energy facilities totaling almost 2 GW. He parlayed those skills into his next job at Google, where he worked for nearly eight years on the Energy and Location Strategy team, helping to scale the company’s global data center infrastructure efficiently and sustainably. Mike helped Google acquire 13 data center campuses across North and South America, totaling thousands of acres and enabling multiple gigawatts of data center capacity. Most recently, he led the Latam region where he oversaw Google’s strategy and deployment of data center capacity, including launching and growing Google Cloud Platform in two key Latin American markets.

Mike has a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a master’s in science with a concentration in renewable energy from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. When Mike isn’t helping the world’s largest technology companies build the internet, he’s most likely found in a tent or backcountry ski hut out in the mountains, far from cell service and connectivity.
