David Kjerrumgaard has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades.

David is currently working as a Developer Advocate at StreamNative since August 2021.

Prior to that, they worked at Splunk as a Principal Software Engineer from November 2019 to July 2021.

From 2018 to 2019, they were the Director of Solution Architecture at Streamlio.

Before joining Streamlio, they served as the Hortonwork Data Flow Practice Director at Hortonworks from 2016 to 2018. David also worked as a Systems Architect at Hortonworks from 2013 to 2016, where they played a key role in installing, configuring, and benchmarking Hadoop on a large cluster, and optimizing the Hadoop cluster on a client's infrastructure.

David has also held positions at various other companies. David worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Zappos Family of Companies from 2011 to 2013, where they designed and developed a custom purchase order system and handled inbound and outbound EDI documents.

Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Systems Architect at Electronic Knowledge Corp from 2006 to 2011, where they built a data analytics platform for the health insurance segment and developed a custom framework for integrating data from various sources.

David also worked as a Software Specialist at FedEx Custom Critical from 2003 to 2006 and as a Consultant at KeyBank from 2003 to 2003.

Their early career includes the role of a Senior Software Engineer at Bristol West Insurance Group from 2001 to 2003, where they led the transition of a claims system to the J2EE platform, and as a Senior Software Developer at Westfield Group of Companies from 2000 to 2001, where they served as an application architect for an insurance policy point-of-sale application.

David Kjerrumgaard pursued their education in the field of Computer Science. David obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Kent State University in the years 1990 to 1994. David then furthered their studies and completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science at Kent State University from 1996 to 2002. Additionally, in July 2013, they received a certification as a Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop (CCDH) from Cloudera.
