Strength Academy Wales is a community-based, not-for-profit strength and wellbeing hub, bringing people together through inclusive, coach-led activity.

We use strength training as a vehicle to build social connection, improve wellbeing, and create a welcoming environment where people of all ages and backgrounds feel they belong.

Our work focuses on supporting a wide range of groups, including older adults (60+ and 70+), individuals with learning disabilities, those experiencing poor mental health in partnership with Mind, people living with Parkinson’s in partnership with Parkinson’s UK, home educated families, unpaid carers, and people from deprived or underrepresented communities.

We deliver a variety of programmes designed to reduce barriers to participation, alongside meaningful volunteer opportunities that enable people to give back, develop skills, and play an active role in their community.

Alongside our community work, we support participation and progression within Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Para Powerlifting, including opportunities linked to Special Olympics GB, helping individuals move from first-time participation through to competition.

Driven by a dedicated team of coaches and volunteers, Strength Academy Wales is proud to be building stronger people and stronger communities.
