About Strength in Service

Rooted in Community, Driven by Connection
Strength in Service provides military-culturally-competent mental health care, career pathways for military spouses, and social health advocacy to eradicate isolation and prevent suicide.

Founded by military spouse and 2024 Pat Tillman Scholar Crystal Bettenhausen-Bubulka, LCSW, after calling 30 TRICARE providers with zero results, we're building the solution military families desperately need.

What We Do

Mental Health Therapy
Individual and group therapy for military families, veterans, and first responders addressing deployment stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, social isolation, relationship challenges, and grief. We accept major insurance, offer sliding scale fees, and maintain zero waitlists.

Career Mentorship & Opportunities
We address 21% military spouse unemployment by providing clinical supervision, flexible employment, and training for Associate Social Workers pursuing licensure—creating sustainable careers that survive relocations.

Social Health Advocacy
We combat isolation through Social Health Ambassador training, the 5-3-1 connection framework, corporate workshops, community programs, and evidence-based suicide prevention.

Why We're Different
Our clinicians are military spouses and veterans who understand deployment, PCS moves, and TRICARE failures—because they've lived them. We turn zero families away. We believe military families don't just bounce back—they're antifragile, growing stronger through adversity.
Our Impact
 ✅ Zero waitlist | ✅ 2 military spouses employed | ✅ Zero turned away

The Need

7% of service members report suicidal thoughts annually
44% of military families face 3+ month waitlists for child mental health care
85% of TRICARE provider listings are inaccurate (GAO, 2024)
Military spouse unemployment: 21%

We're building connection, creating careers, preventing suicide.
