Dewayne Johnson

Dewayne Johnson has a strong background in event planning and management. Dewayne started their career as a Communications Coordinator at the Iowa Environmental Council in 1996 and then worked as a Program Planner II at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, specializing in renewable fuels and alternative energy programs. In 2000, they became the Program Operations Coordinator at Children & Families of Iowa, where they managed grants and coordinated outreach efforts. From 2001 to 2006, they served as the Executive Director of the Iowa Recycling Association, overseeing all aspects of the organization's operations and promoting recycling and waste management to the public. Dewayne then joined the Soil and Water Conservation Society as the Professional Development Director, managing conferences and professional development projects. Dewayne also briefly served as the Interim/Acting Executive Director at the Soil and Water Conservation Society from 2008 to 2009. Dewayne later joined Wells Fargo as an AVP, Events Project Manager before moving up to become the Vice President, Meeting and Events Planning Manager, where they managed the planning strategies for various departments within the company. Most recently, Dewayne worked as the Marketing Events Director at Stretto, responsible for trade shows and sponsorships.

Dewayne Johnson attended Drake University from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a BSE degree in Secondary Education. Dewayne also holds a certification in Digital Event Strategist from PCMA.
