Alicia Smith

Alicia Smith is an experienced educator currently working as a Reading Tutor at Ignite Reading since January 2024 and as a Virtual Tutor for Stride, Inc. since November 2023. Alicia holds a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from Andrews University, obtained in May 2013. Previous experience includes serving as a 1st Grade Teacher in the Kent School District, where Alicia instructionally differentiated based on student needs and managed virtual lessons. Earlier roles at Michigan Conference of SDA - Oakwood Academy and SDA Language Schools involved multi-grade teaching and developing ESL programs. Alicia is trained in the science of reading and implements this alongside state standards in current tutoring positions.
