Elysa Darling has a diverse work experience, starting in 1996 as a Gallery Manager at VSA arts / Kennedy Center For the Performing Arts Affiliate. Elysa then served as a Marketing Assistant and Web Designer at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. In 2000, they became a Project Manager - Product Marketing at Network Solutions / VeriSign, and later joined INPUT as a Web Designer/User Interface Designer. From 2006 to 2009, they worked as a User Interface Designer at Network Solutions. Elysa then transitioned to a role as a Senior User Experience Architect at PRWeb/Vocus. In 2009, they became a Senior Information Architect at NISH / Source America, before moving to K12 as a Senior User Experience Designer in 2010. Elysa's most recent role is as a Lead Senior Product Designer at Stride, Inc., where they are responsible for leading the design team, creating design systems, and advocating for inclusive design. In addition to their professional roles, Elysa has also pursued a career as a Freelance Photographer, specializing in natural light fine art and commercial photography.

Elysa Darling's education history shows that they attended Clark University from 1990 to 1994, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Art History and Studio Art/Design. In 1993, they briefly studied at The Australian National University, focusing on Art History & Archaeology (Prehistory).

In addition to their formal education, Elysa has obtained several certifications. In 2007, they completed a course on Multimedia Web Development at Learning Tree International. In 2015, they participated in the Design Kit: The Course for Human-Centered Design offered by NovoEd. Elysa also holds a certification in Usability Testing from Nielsen Norman Group, acquired in 2016. Recently, in 2022, they obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) certification from Scrum Alliance and the Therapeutic Art Life Coach Certification (Accredited) from Joeel & Natalie Rivera, Victoria Hawkins, Transformation Services.
