Heather Kaczmarek

Heather Kaczmarek is an experienced educational professional currently serving as the English Language Learner Lead for Michigan Virtual Charter Academy at Stride, Inc. since August 2015. In this role, Kaczmarek provides English as a Second Language support to students, families, and teachers, coordinates WIDA testing and English proficiency assessments, and conducts staff professional development on the English learner program and Title III expectations. Prior to this position, Kaczmarek worked as a Secondary Teacher for Central Academy at Global Educational Excellence from September 2005 to August 2015, teaching a range of subjects including middle and high school SIOP English, social studies, language arts, and writing, while also serving as a SIOP trainer and proctor for WIDA and MSTEP assessments. Kaczmarek holds a Master's degree in TESOL, an endorsement in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages, and a Bachelor of Science in Language, Literature, and Writing / History, all from Eastern Michigan University.
