Strides Educational Consulting is a boutique college counseling practice serving families in West Hartford and the Farmington Valley.

Founded by Kaara Koplowitz, Strides was built around a simple belief: the students who land somewhere truly right for them have two things working in their favor. A clear strategy. And someone who actually knows them.

That's the whole point of Strides.

We intentionally keep our caseload small so every family gets our full attention. We show up to the games and the performances. We know your student's humor, their hesitations, and what lights them up. Every plan we build fits who they actually are, not a template we hand everyone.

Our team includes college strategists, an essay expert, testing coordinators, and an executive functioning coach. We can also support families with financial aid and scholarship guidance, interview prep, and making sense of award letters when the time comes.

No two Strides students have the same plan. That's the whole point.

Kaara holds a Master's in Organizational Leadership and is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), actively working toward her Certified Educational Planner credential. IECA membership reflects a commitment to staying current on a landscape that changes almost every day, and to the professional and personal standards and relationships families deserve when navigating one of the most significant decisions of their lives.

Strides is almost entirely referral-based. We think that says everything.
