Strides Over Sidelines (SOS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the next generation of D.C. student-athletes through a holistic model that integrates soccer performance, sports psychology, and academic growth. Our cohort-based programs combine high-quality training with workshops, mentorship, and personalized support, helping students strengthen their athletic ability, mindset, discipline, and academic foundation.

Each participant is paired with a dedicated mentor and gains access to tailored resources such as college preparation, tutoring, webinars, and leadership development sessions. By uniting the structure of competitive soccer with the tools for mental resilience and academic success, SOS empowers young people to thrive on the field and beyond it while building confidence, purpose, and pathways to long-term success.
Our programs blend structured athletic training with mentorship and life-skills education to help middle school students build discipline, teamwork, and confidence both on and off the field. We work with schools, student-athletes, and community partners to deliver consistent programming that supports character development, academic engagement, and healthy lifestyles.

In addition to fostering social and emotional growth, Strides Over Sidelines creates clear pathways for talented players to pursue collegiate and higher-level soccer opportunities. By removing barriers to access and emphasizing holistic development, SOS empowers D.C. youth to transform potential into purpose through sport, mentorship, and community.
