Murali Sastry

Murali Sastry is a Director at String Bio and has over two decades of experience in the field of Innovation. Murali has previously worked as the Director of Innovation at DSM India Pvt. Ltd., where they focused on Life Sciences and Materials Sciences. Murali then went on to become the CEO of IITB-Monash Research Academy, where they were responsible for setting up the Innovation Centre and defining the innovation road map. Murali has also worked as the Chief Innovation Officer at Tata Chemicals, where they lead the creation of the award winning low cost nanotechnology enabled water purifier Swach and an oligosaccharides business.

Murali Sastry did their postdoctoral research in surface physics at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste. Murali then pursued a PhD in thin film physics at IIT Madras. After completing their MSc in physics at IIT Madras, they obtained a HS certificate in sciences from KV Madurai.
