Amaya Smith

Amaya Smith is a legal professional with extensive experience in various roles within the legal field. Beginning as a Law Clerk in the Privacy Enforcement and Protection Unit at the California Department of Justice, Amaya advanced to serve as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Sixth Judicial District Court. Following that, a tenure at Perkins Coie LLP included positions as a Discovery Attorney and Attorney Development Assistant. Amaya further developed expertise as a Senior Attorney at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and as Legal Counsel at Omeros Corporation. Currently, Amaya serves as Privacy Counsel at Stripe after previously holding the position of Commercial Counsel during a secondment at Stripe while operating Amaya Smith Consulting, PLLC. Amaya holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno and a Law degree from the University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law.
