Sam Swartz

Sam Swartz is the Director of Public Policy, US at Stripe. Sam was previously a Consultant - Strategy & Operations at Arnold Ventures, a Senior Policy Advisor at the Office of the Attorney General Kamala D. Harris - California Department of Justice, and a law student at the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law.

At Arnold Ventures, Sam developed and advised on portfolio strategy and helped make and manage investments. At the Office of the Attorney General Kamala D. Harris - California Department of Justice, Sam was the Product Manager for OpenJustice, an initiative lead and founding PM for the creation and launch of OpenJustice (openjustice.doj.ca.gov). Sam also led the development of the Office of Innovation & Performance Improvement, an effort to improve operations and increase policy impact across 5000-person org using data, digital, design, and behavioral tools.

Sam has a deep commitment to social justice and using their skills to make a difference in the world. Sam is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law.

Sam Swartz's educational career includes a Bachelor of Arts in political science and global health from Duke University, as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
