Wim Westbroek has a diverse work experience in the field of composite engineering and mechanical testing. Wim is currently working at Strohm as the Team Lead Composite Engineering since July 2021. Prior to this role, they were a Senior Composite Engineer at Strohm from April 2018 to July 2021. Before joining Strohm, Wim worked as a Mechanical Test Engineer at Airborne Oil & Gas from September 2017 to April 2018.
Wim also gained valuable experience through their internships and teaching assistantship. Wim worked as a Graduate Student Intern at Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands B.V. from September 2016 to July 2017, focusing on the application of carbon fiber reinforced plastic for highly-loaded structures under cryogenic conditions. Additionally, they served as a Teaching Assistant for the MSc. course on Linear Modeling at TU Delft from June 2016 to December 2016.
Furthermore, Wim has had previous professional experience as a Stagiair at Airbus Group from August 2015 to January 2016.
Wim Westbroek pursued their education in the field of aerospace engineering. Wim earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from Delft University of Technology, focusing on aerospace engineering, from 2011 to 2014. During their undergraduate studies, they also spent a semester at Iowa State University, where they completed a minor in aerospace engineering in 2013. Wim continued their academic journey at Delft University of Technology, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in aerospace engineering from 2014 to 2017.
