Alan Moore's work experience begins in 1988 when they started working as a Regional Planner for the Government Office East of England. Alan held this position until 2000 when they transitioned to the role of Head of Regional Planning at the East of England Regional Assembly. Alan worked in this role until 2005. Following this, Alan's next work experience was as a Retired - student at West Suffolk College starting in 2010. Lastly, in 2014, Alan worked as a Research Volunteer for the Stroke Association.

Alan Moore attended Pelham Primary School from 1955 to 1961 and obtained a general education. Alan then went on to study at Mitcham Grammar School from 1961 to 1971, although they did not receive a degree or specialize in any field of study during this time. From 1971 to 1975, Alan Moore attended Sheffield Polytechnic, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in Urban Land Economics.
