Ciara Smyth has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and strategy. Ciara started their career at NSPCC as a Communications Officer in 1995. Ciara then moved to RNIB, where they served as the Deputy Head of Communications from 1996 to 2009. Following that, they worked as a Communications Consultant at Sense for a short period in 2010. In 2009, they established their own consulting firm called Ciara Smyth Consulting, where they provided communication services until 2011. In the same year, they joined the Stroke Association as the Assistant Director of Communications. Ciara later took on the roles of Assistant Director - Marketing and Strategy from 2013 to 2015, and subsequently became the Director of Strategy, Insight and Planning, a position they currently hold.
Ciara Smyth pursued their education at the University of Leeds from 1992 to 1993. During this time, they obtained a Master's degree in Communications. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1988, they attended the University of Sussex where they completed their Bachelor's degree in English.
