Sonya Webb has a diverse work experience history. Sonya started their career as a Medical Secretary in Army primary healthcare services in 2010, where they demonstrated excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. In 2011, they worked as a Breastfeeding Peer Support Coordinator for Integrated Children's Services, NHS Devon, focusing on setting up and running an effective breastfeeding support service. Sonya also provided guidance to other professionals to encourage the establishment of further support groups and networks. From 2012 to 2015, Sonya worked as a Run Leader for Active Devon, supporting beginner runners and informing them about local groups, clubs, and running events.

In 2013, they joined the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust as a Clinical Audit Facilitator, responsible for coordinating audits and evaluations. The same year, they transitioned to Virgin Care Limited as a Baby Friendly Initiative Coordinator, where they facilitated and coordinated various tasks related to training, support, and compliance. Sonya Webb completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Human Nutrition at the University of Worcester from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they attended Exmouth community college from 1991 to 1997, but no degree or field of study was specified. In terms of additional certifications, Sonya obtained a Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy Level 3 from PETROC (formerly North Devon College and East Devon Colleges) in June 2015.
