Lisa Murphy has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Lisa is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Stroke Foundation since April 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Executive Director Stroke Services and Research at the same organization from July 2022 to March 2023. Before joining Stroke Foundation, Lisa worked as the GM Advocacy and Health at Kidney Health Australia from November 2018 to May 2020. Lisa also served as the Interim CEO and General Manager Prisilla Kincaid-Smith Kidney Research Foundation at the same organization. Lisa has previous experience as a Director at Quippe Medical, Medical Manager at MediMark International, and Anaesthetic registrar at West Middlesex Hospital, CHARING CROSS HOSPITAL, and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.

Lisa Murphy attended The King's School, Canterbury from 1987 to 1989 for their secondary education. Lisa then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physiology and Psychology at the University of Glasgow from 1990 to 1994. Following this, they attended Imperial College London from 1995 to 2000 and obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree specializing in Medicine. Lisa furthered their education at the Royal College of Medicine, completing an MRCP degree in General Medicine in 2005. Lisa later attended the Royal College of Anaesthetists from 2006, where they pursued a Diploma of Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in the field of Anaesthetics. Lisa is currently studying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Deakin University, starting in 2019 and expected to complete in 2023.
