Ben Sand

Founder at Strong Compute

Ben Sand is the founder and CEO of Strong Compute, and they have also held previous positions at Western Sydney University, University of Technology Sydney, and Telstra. Sand has helped recruit and coach 26 companies, 6 of which have raised or sold over $1 million as of Demo Day July 2019. Ben has also led the restructure, recruitment, and coaching of accelerator program muru-D Sydney, which has resulted in the most successful cohort of founders to date. From the 10 companies recruited, a total of $70 million in capital has been raised post-accelerator as of January 2022. Ben Sand is also responsible for the conversion of investment instruments to SAFE, which has become a standard investment vehicle in the region.

Ben Sand has completed 3.5 years of their Computer Science degree at the University of Sydney and is currently in the process of completing a W22 - Strong Compute program at Y Combinator. Their focus is on High Performance Compute for AI/ML training and they are also working on an S13 - Meta, Augmented reality hardware driven by real time AI - SLAM, semantic segmentation project.
